アードラ大陸を舞台とした国と戦士たちの物語を体験できる「ストーリークエスト」や「ワールドクエスト」、「イベントクエスト」など多彩なクエストをプレイすることができます。
さらに、みんなで協力して遊ぶ「マルチクエスト」や対戦して遊ぶ「デュエル」もあります。また、みんなで「ギルド」組んでプレイすることも可能です。

＜ストーリー＞
列強に囲まれしリオニスは
小国ながらも、一目を置かれる存在であり続けていた。
その理由は、「翼ある者」に授けられた「指輪」にある。

ビジョン――すなわち具現化された想いを使役し
戦わせることのできる力は、
それほどまでに各国にとって脅威だったのだ。

だが、幾重にも交錯する残酷な運命は
絆や愛、そして友情までをも静かに蝕んでゆく。

リオニスに生まれた双子の王子、
モントとシュテルとて例外ではなかった。

彼らの確執は、長きに渡る幻影戦争の戦端を
開くこととなるのであった。

群雄割拠するこの地で
まばゆき光をたたえたクリスタルは
果たして誰に微笑もうというのか。

＜バトルシステム＞
高低差のある3Ｄのフィールドで繰り広げられる最高峰のタクティカルバトル。戦略を駆使して勝利を目指しましょう。
「オートモード」・「倍速モード」搭載なので、初心者の方でも気軽にプレイ可能です。
さらに、特定のキャラクターは「リミットバースト」と呼ばれる必殺技を持っており、ド派手な演出とともにバトルを有利に進めることができます。
そしてシリーズおなじみの「召喚獣」は、迫力の３Dムービーで登場。強力な力をプレイヤーにかしてくれます。

＜ジョブシステム＆属性＞
FFシリーズおなじみの「ジョブシステム」。ユニットを成長させることで新たなジョブを解放することができます。さらに、ユニットには「属性」があります。敵に有利や属性をもつユニットであれば、大きくダメージを与えることが出来ますし、その逆であれば大きなダメージを受けることもあります。「ジョブ」や「属性」をうまく使ってバトルを有利に進めましょう。

＜クエスト＞
物語を楽しむことができる「ストーリークエスト」をはじめ、成長素材を集めることが出来る「ワールドクエスト」や「イベントクエスト」など多彩なクエストをプレイできます。
「ストーリークエスト」は、フルボイス対応。豪華声優陣のボイスとともに、幻影戦争の物語を楽しむことが出来ます。
